The pharmacy team are here to help you with your HIV medicines. Our pharmacy team includes a specialist pharmacist, and a pharmacy technician.

Because it is very important that you are able to take your medicines correctly we recommend that you to see the specialist pharmacist if you are:

  • Starting treatment for the first time
  • Changing your treatment for any reason
  • Taking any other drugs, including herbal remedies which may interfere with your treatment.

The pharmacist will give you information and advice about your medicines including:

  • How the medicines work
  • How to take your medicines
  • Dealing with side effects
  • Fitting your medicines into your daily routine
  • Ideas on how to remember to take your medicines
  • We can also check that the HIV medicines are safe to take with any other medicines you may be using, or want to use. This is very important, as some medicines can affect how well the HIV medicines work. Please tell us about all your other medicines, including herbal products, and recreational drugs.

You can book an appointment to see a pharmacist via the receptionist (020 8836 6969)

Help! I am running out of medication!

Missing doses can reduce how well the medicines work, which could result in drug resistant virus. It is very important that you take your HIV medicines regularly at the same time of day to prevent drug resistance.

We supply enough HIV medicines to last until your next appointment. If your appointment date changes for any reason, you may need some more medicines. Please contact the clinic as soon as you realise your medicines will run out before your next appointment.

We can supply you with extra medicines, but we need 3 working days notice to make sure we do this safely for you.

Home delivery service

We can arrange for your HIV medicines to be delivered to your home, or your chosen address. This means you don’t have to wait for the pharmacy to dispense the medicines, they can be delivered at a time that is convenient for you.

We take your confidentiality seriously. The person delivering your medicines does not know what they are delivering. This service also saves us money, as we can save on VAT (around £1000 per year per patient). This means the clinic can treat more patients

We are only able to deliver medicines to patients that are stable on their current medicines, and who have an undetectable viral load.

You must continue to attend your doctor appointments and have your regular blood tests while receiving this service.

If you are interested in this service please speak to the pharmacy technician or your doctor, and we can give you more information.

I need medications for other conditions

We are not able to provide anything else except for HIV treatments - everything else needs to come from your GP or local pharmacy.
